About me

Since May 2017, I’m a Post Doctoral Researcher at the Cognitive Systems Group at DTU Compute (Technical University of Denmark) and a Data Scientist at iMotions A/S, Copenhagen, Denmark.

Previously (February 2015 – April 2017) I worked as a junior lecturer at the Neuroheuristic Research Group, Department of Information Systems at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland.

I obtained my BSc in Mathematics at the University of Genoa, Italy, in 2009, and my MSc in Mathematics at the University of Copenhagen in 2011, specialising in algebraic topology. Afterwards, I completed my PhD in Mathematics at the Centre for Quantum Geometry of Moduli Spaces in October 2014, under the supervision of Prof. J. E. Andersen.

My research activity focuses on the interactions between mathematics, machine learning and applications to data from life sciences (mostly brain imaging).

I have a conspicuous teaching experience, both as lecturer and as a teaching assistant, in mathematics and programming, at undergraduate and graduate level.

I am a member of IEEE and ENNS and I serve as Communication Chair for ENNS and the International Conference on Artificial Neural Networks ICANN since 2016.
